Project Summary

CONCERTOUR stands for “Concerted Innovative Approaches, Strategies, Solutions and Services Improving Mobility and European Tourism”. It is a Horizontal Activity (Support Action) project piloted by the European Commission and developed by a Consortium of seven Partners – consultancies and research organisations from seven EU countries.

CONCERTOUR aims to create synergies between transport, research and tourism sectors in Europe. Its overall objective is to propose new guiding concepts for tourists based on the successive stages of “the whole travel itinerary" and to support EU policies in improving the competitiveness of its tourism sector. In parallel it will take into account emerging needs and tourism demands by acting on the main aspects which affect the tourism market (e.g. co-modality, information, ticketing) and by identifying policy-driven solutions to remove barriers to mobility and tourism.

In order to develop constructive and tangible solutions, the CONCERTOUR project calls for your active participation. In your position as a key stakeholder you must deal with tourism-transport related issues on a daily basis and thus have undoubtedly many opinions to voice on the subject! Your opinions, questions and ideas are what CONCERTOUR needs.

CONCERTOUR’s results will depend on successfully bringing together your respective vision and other diverging ones regarding the transport-tourism synergy in Europe. In doing so, CONCERTOUR aims to bring added-value by fully representing the variety of existing opinions whilst being as close-to reality as possible in order to produce appropriate solutions which will work!
